Drawing on her doctoral research in organizational leadership, her formal butler training, and her hands-on experience managing private estates for clients ranging from A-list celebrities with full-time security details to families living entirely below the public radar, Dr. Laurence introduced frameworks including the Threshold Scan — a cultural intelligence tool that mirrors the situational awareness already embedded in executive protection training — as well as the concept of the Silent Contract, the unspoken expectations that determine whether a security professional earns lasting trust inside a private household.

The session also explored the work of cultural anthropologist Edward T. Hall and service environment scholar Mary Jo Bitner, translating academic theory into immediately applicable operational insight for security professionals seeking to deepen their effectiveness inside complex family systems.
